<p>This interactive training brings the historical background, the practical application and the transformational power of ABCD. In many communities, social service organizations, churches, and government agencies attempt community transformation by asking what is wrong in the community,<em> what has to be fixed</em>. ABCD approaches community transformation by asking what is right, <em>what is working</em> and how can everyone contribute their skills and passion to make life better! We invite you to join us for an engaging and interactive event where we will learn how to look at our community as places of great assets.</p>

<p>ABCD in Action is a learning experience that familiarizes participants with the basic concepts of Asset Based Community Development, teaches tools to put them into practice and provides participants opportunities to develop their skills in using these tools to improve programs or ministries!</p>
<h2>Participants in the Training will:</h2>

<li> Learn the fundamental principles and practices of taking ABCD community building and organizing into action</li>
<li> Learn methods to tap into the unique power of individuals with gifts and their voluntary associations</li>
<li> Practice how to build more community engagement and involvement</li>
<li> Learn approaches to sustain community organizations and leaders</li>
<li>Gain ideas for building successful agency resident/client partnerships</li>
<li> Find and mobilize their organizational assets and their community assets to work together for stronger projects, programs and ministries</li>
<li> Learn practical ways of social network organizing to develop more connected local communities where relationships among people grow</li>
<li> Work on real life situations and develop action plans to take home</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Mike Green</strong> // <a href="http://www.abcdtraining.org" target="_blank">www.abcdtraining.org</a> // offers ABCD training and consultation to organizations to engage their local communities as partners for collective action. He is affiliated with Jody Kretzmann’s and John McKnight’s Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) Institute. Mike teaches and consults throughout North America and internationally. <strong>Delia Caderno</strong> // <a href="http://www.p4ct.org" target="_blank">www.p4ct.org</a> // is the founder and Executive Director of Partnership for Community Transformation (P4CT), an intermediary Christian Community Development organization. P4CT’s mission is to bring about holistic transformation in local communities utilizing the ABCD Framework. Delia is a community development coach and trainer.</p>
